Why choose HSTQ?

Insightful context so you can decide with confidence.

RIPE NCC & the RIR ecosystem

The internet’s address space is governed by five Regional Internet Registries; RIPE NCC serves Europe, the Middle East and parts of Central Asia. Their role is to enforce transparent policy, keep authoritative databases and audit resource transfers. By joining as a Local Internet Registry (LIR) you gain direct control of IP blocks and ASN allocations, but must follow best practice and pay membership fees. We translate registry jargon into business-speak, handle paperwork and anchor your resources in full compliance – the solid foundation required for global reach and partner trust.

Why WHOIS, IRR & RPKI hygiene matters

WHOIS tells the world who owns an IP block; IRR records how you intend to route it; RPKI cryptographically proves that intent. Clean objects speed-up peering, reduce security questions and protect against route hijacks. We create and maintain those objects, publish ROAs and keep contacts fresh so your network is trusted by upstreams, exchanges and security vendors alike.

The impact of solid rDNS

Reverse DNS maps IPs back to hostnames – mandatory for mailbox reputation and often checked by anti-abuse systems. We delegate PTR zones, provide any-cast Geo-DNS and support DNSSEC so your rDNS is always online and consistent, even during migrations.

PA vs PI – choose wisely

PA blocks belong to your provider and are simple to obtain but tie you to that provider. PI blocks are legally yours, routable through any upstream yet costlier and require an ASN. We model TCO and risk so you can decide the right mix for today and tomorrow.

The reality of IPv4 scarcity

RIR pools are dry; IPv4 now trades on a secondary market where price equals cleanliness, subnet size and history. We vet every block against abuse lists, perform due-diligence and plan reputation clean-ups so you invest in assets that route fast rather than cause headaches.

Running your own ASN

An ASN unlocks multihoming and full control of BGP policies. We prepare filters, communities, ROAs, max-prefix rules and fail-over scenarios. MANRS-aligned configs mean smoother peering negotiations and quicker disaster recovery.

FAQ

An LIR (Local Internet Registry) is a RIPE NCC member authorised to request and manage IP resources. Becoming an LIR gives your company direct control of address space and ASNs without a middle-man.
No. USD 500 covers our consulting & paperwork. The annual RIPE membership fee is invoiced directly by RIPE NCC to you.
Renewing and updating the ASN object, ROA/RPKI publication, IRR maintenance, BGP & peering consultancy and contact updates. RIPE membership fees are covered.
Order “ASN support” together with “ASN registration” and an IPv6 /32 is delegated at no extra cost for as long as the support package remains active.
Absolutely. We manage PTR zones for IPv4/IPv6 of any size using our any-cast DNS platform and can delegate back to your name-servers with DNSSEC if required.
PI blocks are legally yours and can be routed through any provider; PA blocks belong to a provider – cheaper and simpler but tie you to that carrier. We help pick the right option for your roadmap.
