HSTQ LIR services for ASN, IP resources and network registries

HSTQ LIR services combine administrative and technical work with internet number resources in one clear process.

Registry, sponsoring-LIR and resource fees are separate unless the selected order or written quote explicitly includes them.

What to check before ordering

Choose the service by registry status, routing model and operational responsibility.

RIPE NCC & the RIR ecosystem

Regional Internet Registries maintain Internet number-resource records. RIPE NCC serves Europe, the Middle East and parts of Central Asia. LIR membership creates policy, reporting and fee obligations; the consulting service helps prepare the application and required records but does not guarantee approval or allocation.

Why WHOIS, IRR & RPKI hygiene matters

WHOIS records the registered resource holder and contacts. IRR objects describe routing policy, while RPKI Route Origin Authorisations help networks validate authorised origins. The exact records HSTQ creates or maintains depend on the selected service and the authority delegated to us.

The impact of solid rDNS

Reverse DNS maps IP addresses to hostnames and is commonly used in mail and infrastructure checks. PTR management requires authority over the reverse zone. Nameserver, delegation and DNSSEC options are confirmed during technical review; rDNS alone does not guarantee email delivery.

PA vs PI – choose wisely

Provider-aggregatable address space is supplied under a provider or LIR arrangement and may need to be renumbered when that relationship ends. Provider-independent resources follow different registry and sponsorship rules. Eligibility, routing and transfer conditions must be verified for the specific resource.

The reality of IPv4 scarcity

IPv4 availability and pricing vary by block size, registry status, transfer eligibility and market supply. Reputation data is reviewed during due diligence, but no block can be guaranteed acceptance by every third-party platform after transfer.

Running your own ASN

An ASN is used when an organisation needs its own routing policy, such as multihoming. The application requires a valid use case and is subject to registry or sponsoring-LIR review. BGP configuration and ongoing network operation are separate from the ASN registration paperwork unless included in scope.

FAQ

An LIR is a member of a Regional Internet Registry that can request and manage eligible Internet number resources under registry policy. Membership is useful when your organisation needs direct resource administration and can meet the ongoing obligations.
The $500 price covers the HSTQ consulting and application-work scope shown in the order. RIPE NCC, sponsoring-LIR, resource and other third-party fees are separate unless the written quote explicitly includes them.
The service covers the registry-object, RPKI/IRR, contact and consulting tasks listed in the order. Registry, membership and sponsoring-LIR fees are separate unless explicitly included.
IPv6 resource availability and eligibility depend on the registry or sponsoring-LIR arrangement. Ask for the current allocation, sponsorship and recurring-fee terms before ordering.
We can manage PTR records or reverse-zone delegation for eligible IPv4 and IPv6 resources when the required authority is available. Block size, nameserver and DNSSEC scope are confirmed during review.
Provider-aggregatable space is supplied under a provider or LIR relationship. Provider-independent resources follow different registry and sponsorship rules. Confirm eligibility, transfer status and routing requirements for the specific block.

First, confirm the procedure and total cost

Describe the organisation, country of registration, required ASN or IP resources, upstream providers and target date. We will separate HSTQ work from membership, registry and third-party fees.

HSTQ supports the documentation and technical objects included in the selected service, but the relevant registry or counterparty makes the final decision.
